A SUMMER party will go with a bang thanks to a donation by a district councillor.

Kingsley Holt Guides are planning a Summer Sizzler in July, inviting Brownies from nearby units to come and enjoy a camp fire, games and refreshments and find out more about the next step in their Guiding career.

And when Councillor Elsie Fallows found out about the event, she wanted to support it, donating £100 from her community fund.

The money will be used to buy food and drink for the party.

Unit Guider Jane McFarlane said: "This was a lovely donation from Councillor Fallows and we are absolutely delighted.

"It will really help us put on a great night for our Guides and the Guides of the future."

The presentation was made at Ipstones Fire Station, where the girls were working on their fire safety badge.
