THE LINE-UP for an ever-growing music festival in the Peak District has been announced.
Fanfare, sparkles and general stomping of feet… The Y Not engine for 2014 is humming! With early bird tickets sold out in eight minutes the organisers have now, this evening, announced some of this year’s line-up.
Two of the three headlining acts have been announced and they are: chart topping rapper Dizzee Rascal and album chart topping band of White Lies.
Festival organiser, Simon Mawby, said: “We are so excited with our first announcement and are welcoming some of the biggest names we’ve ever had to our stages.
“The best part is this is just the beginning, with another headliner and hundreds more acts to come. It will truly be the best value Y Not ever.”
Other acts which have been confirmed for this year’s Y Not Festival, include: The Fratellis, Newton Faulkner, Reel Big Fish, Andrew W.K.(solo), The Blackout, Cerebral Ballzy, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Itch, Eliza & The Bear, Lonely The Brave, Darlia, Night Engine, Best Friends, Flyte, Brawlers, Nothing But Thieves, Nordic Giants, Black Moth, The First, Youth Man, and Hungerhoff & The Wild Roots.
Y Not Festival 2014 is set to host ten stages, with the best talent from a wide variety music genres including: rock, indie, hip hop, folk, dance, electronic, punk, blues, acoustic, reggae and roots.
But it’s not all about the bigger bands. Y Not is continuing to support up and coming talent with its long-established, purpose-built Allotment Stage.
Applications to play on this stage are managed through the Y Not Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ynotfestival. With 700 submissions already and 7,300 views, it’s a really effective way of reaching new listeners. And, free, open and fair, it gives artists the opportunity to shine at a nationally renowned festival, in front
of a beautiful audience.
Y Not Festival 2014 will take place from August 1 until August 3 at its regular venue of Pikehall in Derbyshire. Tickets are priced at £84.50 and are on sale at www.ynotfestivals.com, and include three days including camping.
