A FESTIVAL of Lights held in Ipstones raised £430.

The festival, which organisers had chosen the theme 'Good King Wenceslas', was held at St Leonard's Church.

Sixteen local organisations and groups had created displays which were situated all around the church. On the Friday evening the church, which was lit by candlelight, was full of visitors and organisers were forced to restock the mull wine which was available.

A spokesman said the event had been very successful and had attracted many visitors to the church.
