Daleks are set to invade Churnet Valley Railway this weekend

Daleks are set to invade a Staffordshire Moorlands tourist spot this weekend.

Doctor Who's deadliest enemies'will be at the Churnet Valley Railway on Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, along with a number of other television characters.

Join staff and volunteers at the heritage railway as they travel through time by earth train to the planet Consall where visitors can meet their favourite Science fiction heroes and villains, including members of the Star Wars Imperial Forces.

A spokesman at Churnet Valley Railway said: "Beam in dressed as your favourite science fiction character and help the doctors of time as they battle against their deadly enemy the Daleks.

"And don't forget to test your skill at building a Dalek in the space activity academy after taking part in the superheroes dress parade.

"A well-stocked souvenir and intergalactic refreshment pod will be available to replenish all you weary time travelling mums and dads. So get the jet packs out and come along."

Prices for tickets purchased on the day of the event are adults £14, Seniors £12, Child £7 and Family £38.

The Churnet Valley Railway is putting on extra trains this weekend to ensure everyone gets a chance to see these popular characters as they appear at intervals on each day.
