Supermarket staff have been getting energetic in a bid to raise cash for charity.

Sainsbury's in Leek is joining other stores across the country in taking part in the national Sports Relief campaign this month.

Staff at the store carried out a sponsored guess the mileage cycle ride in store on Saturday.

The official Sport Relief 2014 merchandise, including the official T-shirt, is now on sale at Sainsbury's Leek.

Other fund-raising events at the supermarket are set to include a Sport Relief Flashmob on Friday, March 21, and a sponsored rowing event, again by store staff, on Saturday, March 22.

Customers are being given the chance to win a meal for four for guessing the distance rowed.

Meanwhile, Sainsbury's employee John Hunt will be walking 21 miles to the Leek store to further raise funds for Sports Relief.
