A PUB and restaurant has collected thousands of cuddly toys after one of the barmen won them at a popular theme park.

Customers to The Piggery Restaurant at The Peakstones Inn, Alton, are in for a surprise when they visit as more than 2,000 cuddly toys adorn the ceiling and walls.

Landlady Margaret Slinn, pictured, said the cuddly friends have become a talking point in the village and she received complaints when she tried to move them. The 64-year-old added: "The reason he started was to do with me really.

"I used to collect porcelain pigs and I used to give free annual passes to all my staff for Alton Towers.

"It's very unique and popular with adults and children.

"They're in the restaurant area. When I moved a few of them I actually got complaints about it and had to put them all back."
