FOLLOWING on from last year’s successful event, locally based ceilidh band Cuckoo's Nest are again presenting a barn dance to finish off the proceedings at Butterton Wakes Day.
The Wakes take place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 26, in the delightful village of Butterton at the head of the Manifold Valley.
The daytime events, which will begin with a church service at 1.30pm, followed by a parade through the community to the village hall and grounds where there will be an array of stalls and activities.
The event is centred around The Black Lion and the Village Hall, and the dance starts at 7.30pm at the Village Hall. A licensed bar is provided and dancers can bring their own food.
The full version of the band will provide the music which consists of Adrian Crosbie on melodeons and fiddle, Paul Hill on guitars and melodeon, Mike Machin on drums and Dave Rhead on Bass. The Caller for the evening is Colin Higgs from Stafford.
