CHURCHES Together in Cheadle and District are preparing for the Annual Walk of Witness on Good Friday, April 18, at 12 noon.
Good Friday and Easter are the most important and significant dates in the Christian calendar and local Christians bear witness to this by carrying a cross through the town.
The event begins at Cheadle Methodist Church with a short service.
Participants then leave the church in procession led by two people carrying the cross.
Hymns are sung as progress is made up Chapel Street, Cross Street, along High Street to Butlers Hill and into the Main Town Car Park, finishing in Greyhound Walk for a short service of witness before the cross is placed in the Car Park.
