FOUR carol singers from Great Wood Primary School made a guest appearance, along with The Cheadle Academy’s own Choir, for the Academy’s Christmas Lunch.

Grown up guests of honour, who enjoyed festive songs to accompany equally festive fare, were Deputy Mayor Councillors Ron Locker and Margaret Locker, Ms Marie Clarke and Mr Stuart Handley from Vulcan Refractories, together with Governors of The Cheadle Academy.

Following the seasonal singing, visitors tucked in to a beautifully presented, traditional Christmas meal from the Entrust Catering team.

Christmas bouquets were presented to Councillor Margaret Locker and outgoing Principal, Mrs Pam Clulow, on behalf of The Cheadle Academy’s students.

In addition Mrs Clulow received a beautiful basket of flowers from Great Wood Primary students, as a thank you for her time as Governor of the school.

The Cheadle Academy’s Director of Arts, Mrs Sarah Booth said: “This has been a magical lunchtime. The Cheadle Academy’s choir is marvellous and has gone from strength to strength this year.

“It has been super to welcome our special guests from Great Wood Primary; it was a lovely opportunity to sing together. Christmas can now begin.”
