NORTH Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group has launched a new mobile phone app that will give patients all the information they need about local health services.
It means they can quickly and easily find information and locate the nearest appropriate services, whatever their health needs.
The app is already available for Android users and will be ready for download on Apple devices before Christmas.
Dave Hughes, Clinical Accountable Officer for North Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group and Leek GP said: “We know that some people feel confused about what services they can access and where. Hopefully this app will help explain that and will be with them whenever they have their mobile device handy.
“It will not only provide information about the most appropriate services.
"It will also show where the nearest services are, and even the opening times, if the device is GPS-enabled.”
The app contains sections on self-care, pharmacies, GP out-of-hours, GP surgeries, dental access centres and minor injuries units.
There’s even a 30 second quiz on which services are most appropriate for a range of medical conditions, see how you score.
The app is available now for Android users from Google Play Store – search for “Choose Well Staffordshire” “this app with your friends and family to help.
It will also be available from the iTunes App Store for iPhone and iPad users.
