CHEADLE sunk deeper into the relegation mire after suffering an agonising one run defeat away to Audley.
Anro Spykstra was the Audley hero, capturing 5-16 including a hat-trick .
Audley didn't start well, finding themselves 27-5 after opting to bat.
But Andrew Johnson's third-placed side dug deep, led by Dean Bedson's 43 to make their way to 113 not out.
James Sellers was the pick of the Cheadle attack, finishing with 5-50 to give the visitors hope of a much-needed win in their battle against the drop.
Those victory hopes were raised as Hamza Siddique's 35 led them to 67-1 in reply.
Spykstra's hat trick temporarily put on the brakes, although they re-grouped to reach 112-8 and get within touching distance of a precious 20 points.
However, Spysktra dismissed Ryan Harvey and Chris Barker without addition to the score to provide a late twist to the tale.
Cheadle 2XI suffered exactly the same result in the corresponding Premier Division B fixture at Tean Road.
Audley's hero in this clash was Daniel Hammersley who took 3-40 and scored an unbeaten 57.
Cheadle were reduced to 125-8 in pursuit of Audley's 210-5, before being all out for 209.
