CHEADLE Town return to action in the Staffordshire County Senior League Premier Division tonight (Wednesday) when they face Audley at Thorley Drive, kick off 6.30pm.

Town are likely to be without key strikers Harry Smith and Alex Wood, who are both recovering from hamstring injuries and could be sidelined for another two weeks.

Smith suffered his pulled hamstring only minutes after coming on in the recent home clash with Eccleshall, having only recently recovered from a rib injury.

Cheadle have been a different force in 2014 after their disappointing start to the season which saw them collect just eight points from their opening eight games.

"We've now collected 18 points out of a possible 24 since the start of the new year," said Cheadle director of football Alan Beaman, who has been delighted by the team's progress up the table.

Cheadle were desperately unlucky not to have added to their points tally from their clash with league leaders Uttoxeter Town, which they lost to a solitary goal.
