Cheadle Running Club members competed in the annual Stafford 20 road race on Sunday.

For several, it was part of their ongoing preparations for the forthcoming London, Manchester, Blackpool and Flying Fox marathons, whilst others competed as part of relay teams.

In the individual race, nine members completed the undulating 20-mile course in unseasonally hot conditions.

Daz Ward was first from the club to finish, in a time of 2:21:45, followed by Russell Williams in 2:38:21 and Darrel Moseley in 2:39:37.

Other club members finishing were Carl Rushton 2:58:20, Liz Fox in 3:06, John Brown 3:34:07, Tracey Pickford 3:54:26, Martin Bostock 3:57:17 and Bill McAuliffe 3:58:16.

Cheadle were fourth in the men's relay with a team consisting of Mick Beardmore, Jason Mould and Mark Harrison.
