MEMBERS of the Methodist Ladies Get Together Group met recently for their AGM.
Reverend Andrew Farrington took the chair and guided us through the evening's business.
Heather Bates reported that we'd had an enjoyable year with varied activities, and there has been a good attendance at all meetings.
She thanked all officers for their hard work including Dorothy Dolphin and Brenda Sammons who had arranged speakers, Dorothy and Denise who had organised the social events, and Anne Mosley who had carried out her secretarial duties admirably in spite of family illness.
Treasurer, Jackie Chandler, had done an excellent job, as always. The faithful tea committee were also thanked along with all others who play their part to make sure the meetings go ahead smoothly.
All officers agreed to continue in their roles for another year.
Fiona Farrington is to be approached to be our President for 2014 to 2015, with Heather Bates and Isabel Branford acting as Vice Presidents.
Ideas were put forward for next session's programme which begins on 11th September.
The business meeting was followed by the usual delicious spread of food provided by members after which everyone settled down to bid for some of the items provided for the Charity Auction with Anne Mosley acting as auctioneer.
A total of £115 was raised by the event for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.
Members had a quiz to look forward to on 22nd May, a talk on Trading Standards on 12th June and they will hear about 'Drama in Cheadle' on 26th June.
All ladies are welcome to these meetings which are at 7.30pm in the Methodist Church Hall.
Otherwise the group meets for their new session in September when again all ladies are invited to come along.
