A CASH-STRAPPED council will push ahead with controversial cuts to services for vulnerable people.
Staffordshire County Council's decision to slash £4.5 million from its £11 million Supporting People cash pot was called-in by opposition Labour members. But following a review of the decision, the Conservative-led council has confirmed the contract cuts will go ahead from September.
Leek councillor Charlotte Atkins, shadow cabinet member for adult care, said: "They invited the charities to take part in a consultation, but then gave them a decision before they were given their feedback. And they've remained silent, despite being asked what services will be provided in place of those they're cutting."
