Charity walk for Age UK North Staffordshire is taking place at Tittesworth Water near Leek on September 20

JOIN Age UK North Staffordshire's sponsored walk this September and go that extra mile for local older people.

The charity's inaugural 'Love later life' walk is at Tittesworth Water on Saturday, September 20, from 10.30am – 3pm. Registration opens now.

Anyone can take part – have fun, keep fitter, meet new people.

Choose the 1.5-mile short trail or the more energetic five-mile walk around the water.

Charity Chief Executive Peter Bullock said: "The money raised from this walk will help us keep providing vital support to thousands of vulnerable or isolated older people across our region. Hopefully, this will be the first of many such fund-raising walks".

Last year over 7,200 older people used the charity's information and advice service for help with problems and worries.

A total of 450 people enjoyed social activity groups and the charity's Ageing Well Team ran 29 regular exercise groups.

Hospital discharge workers helped hundreds of people get back on their feet after periods of illness or trauma.
