LEEK CSOB will be fielding a total of eight teams during the 2014/15 season.

The teams will provide football activities for a large number of adults and juniors in the local community.

They will include five junior teams catering for age groups from under-11s to under 17s, in addition to the first team and reserves, and the ladies team.

The club is looking for as much financial support as possible, so that it can build a solid base on which to further expand its involvement in the local community.

CSOB vice-chairman John Hyde said: "We are very pleased with the response so far from companies and individuals offering sponsorship and support".

"This financial support is vital if Leek CSOB is going to continue to have a strong and healthy future."

Chairman Steve Rutter added: Our committee of volunteers are working very hard fund-raising and trying to find additional sponsors, and we are appealing to anyone who can help with any financial support, however little it may be.

"In particular, we appeal to all those people who have played or been associated with Leek CSOB in its near-70-year history and ask that they help the club if they can.

"The club has been there for lots of people over the years, and now the club needs the help and support of the local community and ex-Leek CSOB people."

As the pitch at Pointon Park is not yet available after being re-seeded, all of the Old Boys' first team pre-season friendlies have been arranged away from home.

The squad will be split in half to play two fixtures next Thursday evening (July 24).

19: Rylands.

24: Hilton Harriers.

24: Wolstanton.

26: Foley.

27: Leek Town (Chris McFadeen Memorial).

31: Sandbach Curshaws.

The club has organised a sponsored walk on August 2 to raise funds. Fifty per cent of the money raised will go to the Cheddleton branch of Cancer Research UK. Steve Rutter added: "We have a number of ways that people can help and any donations will be greatly received and appreciated."

First team sponsorship deals:

General - unlimited.

Match - £100.

Ball - £30

Vice-president - £50

Sponsored walk donations - unlimited
