BUXTON Mountain Rescue Team was called on Wednesday tea time by the East Midlands Ambulance Service, following reports of someone having fallen from the top of Solomon’s Temple, a prominent local landmark high above Buxton.

As team members and the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance arrived, ambulance service paramedics were already on scene treating the casualty.

The casualty, a 15 year old boy, on holiday with his family from Derby had fallen about 20 feet from the top of the tower, sustaining suspected back injuries.

Following on scene treatment, the lad was carried to the waiting helicopter and flown to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire for further treatment.
