FAMILIES enjoyed a special children's day at Brindley Mill in Leek where they learned about the history of grinding flour.
The fun day featured a host of activities to keep visitors entertained, including gnome hunting, aquaplay and quizzes.
Children were also free to try their hand at grinding corn while learning about how the water-powered mill worked.
Volunteer steward at the mill, Cathy Hallen, said: "Every year we open our doors for this event to attract children to the mill.
"It was a lot of hard work for them grinding their own corn but they thoroughly enjoyed themselves as did the staff.
"We also held our usual guided tours so the children and other visitors could learn the history behind it."
