MUSIC lovers in Leek had a real treat at the weekend with a double-helping of local talent on stage at a public house.
The final mini music festival for 2013 at The Wilkes Head in St Edward's Street, Leek started on Saturday evening with music from within a marquee in the pub's car park on Saturday evening. The likes of the Sub Zero Busking Club and Watson & Co entertained the crowd.
The next day saw the main part of the music event which was entitled W2013 Party in the Car Park.
Talented local and regional acts took to the stage in the car park providing a range of different music genre throughout the day. Starting with the acoustic vocals and instruments from Kayleigh Knight and family, moving on to rock music from Black Tiger and Vertigo Fish.
The pace then slowed temporarily with the folk and blues tones of Watson & Co and then picked up again with the bounce of reggae from Flank Dub Department, and then ending with energetic dance tunes from the ever-popular Earthworm Jim.
W2013 Party in the Car Park saw people of all ages enjoying the atmosphere of the festival which was hosted by pub landlord Malcolm Moger and his team of crew and bar staff.
