A LARGE gathering of members attended the Leek Bowling Club annual presentation evening.

Ken Weir officiated on behalf of club captain Joe Bailey and the awards were presented by president Allan Franklin.

Prizes are presented each year to members taking part in both countywide league matches and internal club matches.

The Stoke-on-Trent League A team was congratulated on gaining promotion from the third division, and also the Congleton Vets League C team for reaching the final of the knock-out cup.

The captain's special prizes were awarded to Michael Wheatley (most improved bowler) and Ken Cook (member of the year).

After the presentations, a pie and pea supper was provided by Cheddleton Old School Tea Rooms.

The Leek club has a very active membership involved in the Stoke-on-Trent, Uttoxeter and Congleton leagues, as well as club competitions.

New members are welcome to join the club and take advantage of the outdoor and indoor social facilities.

There is crown green bowling from April to September, and short mat bowling from October to March.

The clubhouse is also available for hire for special occasions, including weddings and birthday parties, with special discounts for members.
