MORE memories of local railways are recalled in a new book which will be launched at Froghall and Kingsley station on the preserved Churnet Valley Railway on Easter Sunday and Monday.

This is the third and final volume in Basil Jeuda's series on the North Staffordshire Railway in LMS days. The North Stafford became part of the massive LMS system in a railway amalgamation scheme in 1923.

This lavishly illustrated book will include sections about the line from Leek to Stoke, the Waterhouses line and Manifold Valley Light Railway, Cauldon quarries and Rudyard Lake.
