LEEK Town are no longer sitting pretty at the top of the Evostik Northern Premier League First Division South.
The new leaders are Halesowen Town, following their 3-0 home win against Sheffield on Saturday.
Halesowen took full advantage of the Blues inactivity because of the weather to open up a two-point lead at the top.
The Blues fixture at Bedworth was cancelled because of a waterlogged pitch following heavy overnight rain.
However, Halesowen's reign in pole position is expected be short-lived, as the Blues have three games in hand over their rivals from the West Midlands. Commenting on Saturday's postponement, Blues boss Lee Casswell, pictured left, said: "I was frustrated that the game was called off, but it happens – it's a fair trip down to Bedworth for us so the decision to have the pitch inspected was a wise one.
"As a result of the postponement, I am now hoping to avoid a fixture pile-up. Already, five games need re-scheduling as we go into the second half of the season. It was frustrating to lose top spot but we'll shake away the cobwebs with a training session ready for the home fixture against Market Drayton Town on Boxing Day."
Meanwhile, Blues match at Carlton Town, which was postponed because of the FA Trophy tie at Altrincham, has been re-arranged for Wednesday, January 15 (7.45pm).
Thu 26: Market Drayton Town – h, 3pm.
Sat 28: Scarborough Athletic – h, 3pm.
Wed 1: Newcastle Town – a, 3pm.
Sat 4: Lincoln United – h, 3pm.
