A DISCO night is being hosted at a sports and social club this weekend.

The eighties music event is being staged by DJ Anthony Grain of Blitz Music Nights at the Ball Haye Green Sports and Social Club in Leek on Friday (January 31) at 8pm. This event is being hosted to raise cash for Oscar's Giving – a local fund-raising group which raises cash for organisations which have helped one-year-old Oscar Povey from Leek, who has a rare genetic condition called Charge Syndrome. Tickets for this Friday's Blitz Night are priced at £5 and are available from the Phone Net Shop in Sheepmerket, Leek. The disco will start at 8pm and Oscar will be making a guest appearance. His dad, Mark Povey, said: "I think it's really great that Anthony is hosting one of his nights for Oscar's Giving. All being well we will be taking Oscar up to the Blitz Night so that he can meet the people who will be raising money on his behalf."
