Biker hit wall near golf club

A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital at the weekend after hitting a wall.

The incident happened outside Westwood Golf Club in Ladderedge, Leek.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “We were called to an incident outside Westwood Golf Club at 10.55pm on Sunday where a motorcyclist hit a wall.

“One male, aged 30, was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in a serious condition. We are investigating the incident.” A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: “We were called to outside a golf club on Newcastle Road in Leek at 10.53pm to reports of a motorcyclist road traffic collision.

“A doctor, Community First Responder and an ambulance attended.

“They treated a man in his 30s who was suffering from chest pain, shortness of breath and abdominal pain.

“He was given pain relief, immobilised with a neck collar and spinal board before being taken to University Hospital of North Staffordshire for further assessment and treatment.”
