A BARMAID has stripped down to her birthday suit for a photoshoot to help raise cash for charity.

Julie Bull, who works at The Fountain Inn, Leek, is one of a number of employees of the Caldmore Group who volunteered to bare all for photographs which have been used to create a fund-raising calendar.

Julie, aged 46, who lives in Leek, said: “I haven’t done anything like this before, but when I was asked I thought why not? “I wasn’t nervous at all during the photo shoot.

“It’s all for a good cause and I am pleased with the end result of the photograph, which was taken very tastefully.” Julie’s photo, which appears in the calendar for the month of April, shows her sat at a table in the Fountain, with pub regular Graham enjoying a pint, and regular canine visitor George also in the picture.

A bunch of yellow flowers, placed on the table tastefully conserve Julie’s modesty.

The recently re-opened Fountain Inn is one of eight pubs from the Caldmore Group which now have the nude calendars on sale.

Collectively the pubs are hoping to raise £3,000 for the Hospice, with £3 from each calendar – priced at £5 each – being donated to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice in Blurton.

Alistair Morris, Manager of The Fountain Inn said: “Dougie Mac is a charity close to the hearts of many people in Leek including ourselves here at The Fountain Inn.

“We have let the customers know about the calendars and we are hoping for a great response by the people of Leek, and to raise loads of money for the hospice.” The hospice provides specialist palliative care for adults across North Staffordshire and surrounding areas who face cancer and other life-limiting illnesses It will cost more than £10 million in 2013 to run and develop the full range of services for the hospice. More than two-thirds of money comes from local voluntary donations.

Liz Clarke, Head of Fundraising at the Douglas Macmillan Hospice, added: “Our supporters are always looking at new and innovative ways to raise funds for the hospice, and we would like to thank all of the pubs participating for their support.” For further information on the Caldmore Group’s Nude Calendar contact Laura Jarrett on 01584 856799.
