BAGSHAWS' first auction of 2014 has seenstrong demand
The firm conducted a property auction on Monday, March 31, at the Agricultural Business Centre, Bakewell, where eight lots were offered resulting in the sale of seven.
Excellent prices were achieved throughout, with competitive bidding for all of the lots.
Total sale realisation was £1.69 million with the highlight of the day being the sale of St Martins Farm Coach Road, Ashover.
The property made a top bid in the room of £692,000.
It comprised a four-bedroom agricultural tied dormer bungalow, 43 acres of grassland and a range of farm buildings.
Bare land found plenty of bidders with the highlight of the sale being 13.76 acres of land at Flagg Lane, Sheldon, which sold for £145,000 (£10,537 per acre). The highest bid of the day for land was for 41.14 acres of land at Alstonefield, which achieved £257,000 (£6,246 per acre).
An adjoining block of 24.75 acres at Alstonfield made £173,000, (£6,989 per acre) and 14.77 acres of riverside land at Hartington achieved £118,000 (£7,989 per acre).
The only lot unsold on the day was Devonshire Farm at Stony Houghton between Mansfield and Chesterfield, which is now being offered by private treaty.
