Swetnam added to squad

LEEK Town manager Lee Casswell swooped last week to strengthen his squad by signing Market Drayton Town midfielder Rhys Swetnam, Swetnam, aged 21, who can also play at the back is a versatile player who has previously been on the books at Stourbridge and Stafford Rangers.

It’s Evesham in the Trophy

Leek Town travel to Calor League Division One South and West outfit Evesham United in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy.

The game will be staged at the Jubilee Stadium on Saturday, October 19 (3pm) Blues played Evesham last season in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup at Harrison Park and won the game 2-1.

Goole travel

Fans wishing to travel to Goole on the team coach this Saturday should ring 01538 386356 for further details.

The coach leaves the ground at 10.30am picking up at Catchems Corner at 11am .

Cost £8.00 each (all classes).

Supporters coach to Sutton Coldfield

Leek Town supporters club has organised a fans coach for the trip to Sutton Coldfield on Saturday, October 26 and seats are filling up fast.

Anyone wishing to travel on the coach should ring Mark Brough on 07969 515 244 for further details.

Supporters club officials are also organising a ‘Curry Nite’ to be held at the Red Lion on the Market Square on Sunday, November 17, price £10 per head. Again ring Mark for further details.

Leek Town Sportsman’s Evening

Leek Town’s latest Sportsman’s Evening will be held in the Blues Bar on Thursday, October 17. The main speaker will be former Welsh International footballer Dean Saunders supported by Liverpool comedian Jed Stone.

Evo-Stik have teamed up with the NPL to sponsor a new Bostik Supporter of the Year Award.

The new accolade is also playing a key role in the league’s backing for the Football Association sponsored Fan Based Experience project.

Entry forms and voting rules for nominating the inaugural 2014 Supporter of the Year Award are on their way to Harrison Park. Exceptional volunteers who work for the benefit of their clubs or someone who has overcome a personal challenge or disability to regularly support their team are eligible for the award.
