ARE you thinking about doing something new this year? Something where you could meet new people, gain new skills and make a difference? Then volunteering could be for you.

The Volunteer Centre in Leek is managed by Support Staffordshire (Staffordshire Moorlands) and helps individuals get into volunteering. With opportunities ranging from support roles to administration, conservation to youth work.

The Volunteer Centre offers appointments at their offices in High Street, Leek so that individuals can go and discuss what options are available to them.

Esther Bromley, Volunteering and Training Officer, said: "There are many reasons why people wish to volunteer. For some, it is experience that they can include on their CV that will help them find paid work.

"For others it may be the first step back into community life after an illness. Some want to volunteer in a specific activity, others simply want to explore what is out there.

"An appointment with an experienced adviser will help direct their search in a non-judgmental and friendly way."

For further information about volunteering, call The Volunteer Centre on 01538 398240 or call into 9 High street, Leek to make an appointment.
