ELDERLY residents are being urged to learn computer skills at a village school.

As part of a joint community project, Moorside High School and the Werrington Young Persons Support Group operate the Silver Surfers, where those of more mature years are taught on a one-to-one basis by Year Nine pupils, who also organise the four-week course which covers Access to the Internet, E-mailing, PowerPoint and Word Processing.

This is the third year the Silver Surfers has been running.

The courses are free and bookings for 2014 can be made with Village Life Editor Jean Fryer on 01782 304890.
