EXAM successes of 2013 were celebrated at Leek High School when students returned to the campus for the annual GCSE and A Level presentation evening.
The school hall was packed with students past and present who gathered to celebrate the end of 11 years of compulsory education and, as headteacher John Spencer handed out their certificates of achievement, he paid tribute to the support of parents.
Mr Spencer said: "Some of you here have done astonishingly well and it's great to see so many of you here to celebrate your achievements tonight.
"A lot of hard work has gone into these exams but, if you students think that you've been through the wringer, then you know absolutely nothing.
"I think it is your parents who deserve a really big thank you because, as a parent myself, I know full well that they have been with you every step of the way.
"They have shared in your joys and successes and supported you through your woes and your worries.
"I want to say a big thank-you on your behalf to all the supportive parents who are gathered here tonight to mark your achievements at GCSE and A level."
Students and parents enjoyed a celebration buffet prepared by Leek High's own catering department.
