It is finally here - Leek's first ever Country and Western Weekend! Yee haa!

Entitled 'Gunfight at the Oatcake Corral' the weekend will see a mass line dance in Leek's town centre on Saturday morning, as well as a 'Country and Western' village set up in the town's main park of Brough Park over the two days.

There will also be re-enactors patrolling the town centre as well as performing 'shoot-outs' in the park. A host of Country and Western music stars will be providing the musical entertainment within a large marquee by the bandstand in Brough Park.

The free event has been organised by the Leek Town Council Events Committee and funded by a bequest left by the late Steve Povey.
