A LEEK businessman is celebrating after his shop was named the best of its kind for the second time.
Povey's Oatcakes, which has a shop in Biddulph and supplies the local delicacy to other outlets around the district, has been named as this year's Best Oatcake Shop by listeners of Six Towns Radio.
Owner Alex Povey, who lives in Leek and is a town councillor, said: "We feel great that we have won again. We last won this two years ago. The competition is based on votes so it shows that we have a good customer base and that there are a lot of people out there who like us."
Alex took over the running of the oatcake business when his father, Steve Povey, passed away in October 2011 after losing his battle with cancer. Alex added: "I think Dad will be up there, laughing and approving of us winning this award again."
