A new vintage-inspired clothing shop has opened.

Fashion design graduate Melissa-Claire Dawson opened her small boutique in St Edward Street, Leek, on Saturday.

The 23-year-old graduated with a 2:1 in Fashion Design at Liverpool's John Moores University last Summer.

Melissa-Claire had her work chosen to be displayed at last year's London Graduate Fashion Week event.

She first put her designs up for sale at the Totally Locally Pop Up Shop, which ran in Leek last year for eight weeks.

She has since been selling her creations at a number of markets including in Derby, Lichfield, and Ashbourne, as well as at the monthly Totally Locally Sunday Supplement in Leek.

But now, she has decided to take the step of opening up a shop.

Melissa-Claire is offering a range of vintage style clothing from 1950s style dresses with petticoats underneath to more modern print dresses.

As well as clothes, Melissa-Claire designs and makes jewellery and is aiming to increase her hand-made range.
