Dorothy and friends host evening of music at Trinity Church in Leek

A MUSICAL extravaganza has taken place in Leek and raised cash for charity.

Dorothy Biddulph organised the event which took place at Trinity Church in Derby Street, Leek on Friday, February 8.

The concert, entitled 'An Evening with Dorothy and Friends', raised money for the @21 Leek Town Centre Youth Project.

Performers for the musical interlude included singing group Young Phoenix, Helen Pope on Flute, Marion Hall with a monologue, clarinet group Peter Hemsworth and friends, soloist Hannah Turner, and the Red Lion Singers.

Dorothy said: "We raised more than £400 for @21. We had a good audience which was most appreciative.

"Leek has a lot of talent and an event like this shows what talent they have.

"The evening was compared by Ian Wilson and Vicky Ainsley assisted the young choirs and thanks also to Reverend Richard Pope who helped with the projector."
