FRIDAY the 13th will be a lucky day for visitors to Buxton and Leek College's Bodyworks hair and beauty salon this week.

For the training salon, at the college's Leek campus in Stockwell Street, is offering cut price treats in the name of a good cause.

All of the money taken between 10am and noon will go to the North Staffordshire branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

On offer will be a manicure or wash and blow dry for just £4 or a gel nail polish for £10. Advanced students from the Level 3 hair and beauty courses will be offering their services.

Visitors can also enjoy coffee and cakes and there will be a raffle running with the prize of a luxury Gerrards facial up for grabs.

The special event has been inspired by Di Baker from Leek whose daughter, Bessie Baker, is doing a level 3 beauty course at the college. Lecturer Jayne Earl explained: "Bessie's mum suffers quite badly with MS and, as she is a regular client for us, we wanted to do something to help."

To find out more, contact the college on 01538 398866.
