A RESIDENTS group has received a cash boost thanks to community leaders.

Action West End has been given £300 by the group's three Staffordshire Moorlands District Council's ward councillors for Leek West.

The cash, £100 from each councillor's community initiative fund allocation, has been awarded retrospectively to help offset the cost of the group's annual Family Fun Day, which took place in September on the Westwood Road Recreational Grounds in Leek.

A spokesman for Action West End said: "Donations like this are most appreciated as it helps to keep the cost of organising our annual family fun day down.

"We organise the event to enhance the community spirit in the area in which we live. It is an ever-growing event with more and more activities going on.

"We are always on the lookout for more residents to join our group to help organise the event or even just volunteer to help run stalls on the day."

Anyone interested can contact the Facebook page 'Action West End' or by call 07941 806986.
