A man was arrested in Leek last week for being drunk and disorderly.
Stephen Armstrong, aged 42, of no fixed address was charged with being drunk and disorderly in Leek Market Place. He is due to appear before magistrates at Newcastle on Friday, March 28.
A Police spokesman said: "He was arrested after officers were called to a report of a man acting in a disorderly manner in St Edward Street at around 7.10pm.
"Upon arrival the man requested medical assistance and an ambulance attended. However, he refused treatment.
"He continued to act in a disorderly manner and was subsequently arrested."
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called just before 7.30pm on Thursday night, to St Edward's Street in Leek by the police to a man who had been suffering with chest pains.
"An ambulance and paramedic were sent but the patient did not need to go to hospital."
