TWO Summer Guided Walks have been organised within the Churnet Valley led by local naturalist, historian and author Byron Machin.

Next Thursday, June 26, there will be a three mile woods, waterways and wildflowers walk starting from Froghall car park at 7pm.

Afterwards the group will meet for a drink and chat in the Lord Nelson pub, a 10 minute drive down the valley in Oakamoor.

On Thursday, July 10, there will be Rocks, Rivers and Rails starting from Brown End Quarry car park at 7pm.

Explore more of the industrial and natural history of the valley, visit a Norman church, see a 4,000 year old burial ground and discover rocks over 300 million years old.

This walk will end with a visit to the Yew Tree Inn for a drink and chat.
