A council has clarified that it was informed by a driver who damaged a traffic light in Leek on the day of the incident.

We reported last week that Staffordshire County Council was appealing for the driver who damaged the traffic light on the corner of Derby Street and Haywood Street on Wednesday, May 28. However, councillor Mark Deaville, Cabinet Support Member for Transport at Staffordshire County Council, said: "I'm happy to clarify that the owners of the vehicle, Wells Farm Dairy, reported this accident on the day it happened and we will be liaising with their insurers. I'd like to thank the company for taking such quick action."
