Support Staffordshire (Staffordshire Moorlands) is throwing open its doors to local groups and individuals who would like to find out more about its services and how they can help local organisations grow and develop.
The Open Day, taking place on Friday, June 20, from 10am until 3pm at its High Street premises in Leek, is open to all local groups to find out more about the wide array of support on offer from the organisation – and how they can benefit from being connected to over 700 like-minded organisations across the county.
Jo Phillips, Deputy Chief Officer at Support Staffordshire (Staffordshire Moorlands) said: "Our staff will be on hand throughout the day to chat to anyone connected to a local group, charity or social-enterprise – whether a member of staff, a volunteer, a trustee or a service user.
"We are also here to help if anyone out there has a great idea for a community project and wants support to get it off the ground. From one-to-one support to trustee planning sessions and undertaking consultations we have many years' experience and expertise on hand to support you."
Staff will be available throughout the day with specific short presentations and Question and Answer sessions delivered on the hour including at: 10am focusing on Transport; 11am Volunteering; midday Funding; 1pm Training; and 2pm Development.
All organisations who attend will be put into a free draw to win a three hour advice or facilitation session of their choice i.e. volunteering, funding, policy development.
Jo added: "We work hard to ensure that we are able to offer the best possible support to our local community groups so that they, in turn, are able to strengthen their own service delivery to their beneficiaries.
"We are hoping that people will join us during the day and recognise for themselves why we are the first choice destination for development, volunteering, networking and influencing."
