SANTA Claus, nicknamed Santa Paws for the day, visited Dougal's Den in Stanley Street, Leek on Sunday as part of the Totally Locally Sunday Supplement Christmas Special.
The festive character was invited to the pooch-friendly grotto by Dougal's Den owner Lynn Haigh, who also dressed up as an Elf, along with Top Dogs Groomer Leah Dodd, to help in Santa's bid to wish as many pooches a 'Merry Christmas'.
The photographs were taken free-of-charge by Joe Scrivens of One Little Daisy Photography in St Edward Street, Leek.
Doggie owners were asked to pay £5 for their pooch to see Santa and have their photograph taken with him, and each dog was given a gift from Dougal's Den.
Lynn said: "This event exceeded our expectations with a total of 50 dogs being brought along to see Santa Paws.
"Most of them were fine sitting on Santa's knee for a photograph, although some of the larger doggies sat on the floor and Santa sat beside them.
"Due to the success of the event, we will be asking Santa back next year. We raised a total of £250 which will be going to The Ark, the animal welfare organisation in Ashbourne."
Dougal's Den has already raised cash for an animal charity in hosting a Dog Show earlier this year. This time the money went to Greenfields Greyhound Dog Rescue in Endon.
Lynn added: "We will be doing another fund-raiser in the Springtime, but haven't decided what yet.
"We would like to thank Santa for visiting us and also Joe for taking the photographs and providing the mounted prints free-of-charge."
