Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis spoke with dozens of supermarket shoppers in the Staffordshire Moorlands during a visit.
Mr Ellis held a 'Let's Talk' supermarket surgery at Waitrose in Leek.
The event was the latest opportunity for people to tell Mr Ellis first-hand about crime and local policing concerns, and their experience of the criminal justice system.
People were invited to pop along to discuss any issues they had about crime, policing and community safety with Mr Ellis.
He said: "It was great to meet so many friendly people at Waitrose in Leek.
"I was again amazed at how many people already know what we are working on to spend their money better and make policing more visible in their communities.
"There were also positive comments on the work police are doing in the Staffordshire Moorlands."
