A new sports development manager has been appointed at a leisure centre in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
Anna Lavan, aged 55, from Cheadle, pictured, has returned to her home district after years of working with national sporting stars.
Anna is now the new sports development manager at Brough Park Leisure Centre in Leek.
Anna, who has coached sporting stars such as Paralympic gold medallist Ellie Simmonds, is aiming to introduce a range of new activities at the leisure centre such as football sessions for the disabled, multi-disability sports groups, boot camps, family fitness, and golf. Anna, who first worked at the centre more than 10 years ago before travelling to different parts of the country for her coaching work, said: "I have come full circle. It's nice to be back here.
"Brough Park is a lovely leisure centre to work at with friendly staff.
"I decided to come back to work here as I wanted to give something back to the community by using my experience and knowledge to help develop sport in Leek."
Anna is hoping to access a number of grants with the aim of being able to offer subsidised sporting sessions for a range of abilities and ages.
