Meerbrook Fete a success despite rain

A VILLAGE fete went ahead at the weekend despite wet weather.

The Meerbrook Church Fete took place on Saturday and saw lots of activities for all the family.

Starting at 2pm the activities included Shire Horse Harnessing Display, Blackshaw Moor School Dancers, Chair Plane Swings, Children's Sports, Bee Keeper Display, Competitions, Stalls, Coconut shy, Skittles, Tombola, and Vintage Tractors.

Refreshments were made available in the village hall and visitors could also enjoy taking a trip in and around the surrounding areas of the village to see the array of Scarecrows which were also in place as part of the celebrations.
