FAMILIES have been enjoying a host of Easter focused activities at a heritage railway.
Churnet Valley Railway hosted its Steam hauled Easter 'Eggspress' trains at the weekend, and have an additional day of Easter Steam fun on Wednesday, April 23.
On Easter Sunday children enjoyed complimentary Easter Activities which included an Easter Egg Hunt, Egg Painting, Hunt the Rabbit, and Make and Take Children's Activity Tables. Easter Steam trains ran over Saturday, Easter Sunday, and Bank Holiday Monday.
Trains are also running today departing at 11.32am, 12.57pm and 2.22pm from Cheddleton Station, and 12.10pm, 1.35pm and 3pm from Kingsley and Froghall Station. No booking is required.
The next big event at Churnet Valley Railway will be the hugely popular 1940s weekend to be held this weekend on Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27.
This year's event is set to see life on the home front with colourful re-enactors, military vehicles, classic cars, a vintage market, nostalgic music and an afternoon 'Tea Dance'.
Events co-ordinator Chris Fletcher said: "This is one of the most popular events we put on.
"This is the 16th year of hosting our tribute to the Second World War.
"Where else can you enjoy steam trains, Ensa entertainers and a tea dance?"
Trains run throughout the day departing from both stations, and no booking for the event is required.
