Wednesday June 11

New ME Support Group 11am at Meerbrook Village Hall, near Leek. For anyone who has ME/CFS, thinks they may have ME/CFS, or knows anyone with ME/CFS.

Astound Art Exhibition The art gallery in Nicholson Institute, Stockwell Street, Leek. With work by students from Leek School of Art (part of Buxton & Leek College). Running until Saturday (June 14). Details: 01538 398866.

Coffee Morning 9.30am-11am at Leek Library, Stockwell Street, Leek. In aid of Family Learning. Plus between 10am-11am there will be a book signing with Jeff Kent and his new book 'Staffordshire's 1,000 Foot Peaks'.

Garden Party 2pm onwards at 9 Basford Bridge Lane, Cheddleton (opposite the Cricket Club). Plants, cakes, books and bric-a-brac stalls. Plus children's activities and refreshments on the lawn. All proceeds to St Edward's Church, Cheddleton. Free admission.

Alton Village Fete 2pm onwards in a field at the top of Alton Village at Town Head next to St Peter's School.

Summer Fete Midday onwards at St Mildred's Church, Whiston. Within the church and grounds. Include barbecue, cakes, crafts, plants, teas, and children's games.

Village Garage Sale 10am-2pm in and around the Parish Hall and Church in Bramshall. Lots of stalls and refreshments.

Flash Flower Festival 11am-7pm at Quarnford Parish Church. Theme: All Things Bright and Beautiful. Plus on Saturday: Teapot Service and Blessing of the Well at 2pm. Sunday: Songs of Praise with Longnor Benefice Choir at 7pm. Monday: Reunion and Social Evening with refreshments at 7.30pm.

Calton Fell Race 7.30pm at Calton St Mary's Memorial Hall, Back Lane, Calton, near Leek. Entries on the night only £5. A five mile off-road race, with 800 foot ascent. Info: 01538 308149.
