A three-piece folk act is making a welcome return to the Staffordshire Moorlands this week.

Following a successful appearance at Leek Arts Festival Folk Day, the Herbs and Leekies at the Folk at The Lion will be welcoming Poacher to the stage at The Red Lion in Cheddleton tomorrow (Thursday, June 19).

Purveyors of songs ancient and modern, members of Poacher perform in three-part harmony.

From their den in deepest Norfolk, Poacher sally forth to ensure unsuspecting club and festival audiences with their cavalier approach to harmony, and a repertoire which rambles from Richard Thompson to the Rev Ira D Sankey, taking in the English tradition and the odd Latin round along the way.

Admission for Folk at the Lion tomorrow will be £6. Doors will open at 8pm for an 8.30pm start.
