Darts charity competition raises cash for Haregate Community Carnival Queen

A darts competition has helped a community queen raise cash for charity.

The Competition was hosted by the Haregate Community Carnival Queen's Committee in Leek.

Fund-raising co-ordinator for Committee, Heather Dunn-Fox, said: "We had a really good turnout and raised more than £87."

The winners prizes were £30 for first place in the men's contest, won by Tony Banks, and £20 for the runner up Jamie Dunn-Fox, and £20 for the winning woman, Steph from Buxton, and £10 for the runner-up Collette Duffield.

All winners also received trophies.

The highest 'check-out' at 100 went to Jamie Dunn-Fox who won £10 and a trophy. The proceeds of the competition have gone to the Haregate Community Queen's chosen charity of Love4Leah.

The Haregate Community Queen's next event will be the group's carnival day on Saturday, August 2, which will mainly be held at St Paul's Church in Novi Lane, with the parade starting at 2pm.
