A VILLAGE church was filled with colour at the weekend for the venue's annual flower festival.

'This is Our Song' was the theme for the Flower Festival at St Edward's Church in Cheddleton. The display of colour was produced by members of the church's Flower Arranging Team, which is led by floral art tutor Mary Williams.

Maggie Westhead, a member of the team, said: "Mary Williams is a very skilled leader and teacher of our flower arranging team at St Edward's Church in Cheddleton.

"Mary has trained us to be able to produce really beautiful arrangements. The Flower Festival has been our most ambitious to date."
